Faridabad Map
Faridabad is a very major city that is located in the northern parts of India not too far from Delhi. It is mostly known for being a leader in Indian industrials, although everything from agriculture to trade can be done in the highly populated city. Faridabad was founded in 1607 by Shaikh Farid, who was the treasurer of Jahangir at the time. Farid saw the city as a place to set up his headquarters and it became a national landmark not only for trade purposes but for international tourists as well.

Faridabad is split into five sub divisions (Faridabad District) which are named: Faridabad, Ballabgarh, Palwal, Hodal and Hathin. Each division is policed by its own division leader who oversees the division as a whole and reports to the city.

Today Faridabad stands roughly 25 kilometers (15.4 miles) from the capital Delhi and it represents the 12th district of Haryana State (since August 15th 1979). Faridabad is known as the industrial center of India because it produces large supplies of shoes, tires, vehicles and other useful products. The industrial side of Faridabad not only fuels much of the needs in India but that around the world as well. India uses the cities trade value to work with other countries for goods.

While Faridabad works its wonders as far as international trade and industrial production, it also serves as a major tourist center. Some of the more popular sites in the city are the Suraj Kund Tourist Complex, the Aravalli Golf Club and the Badkhal Lake Tourist Complex.
